About this object

The cigarette case is made in a cylinder shape, which opens lengthwise with a cabochon ruby thumb piece. The exterior has been chased in a ribbed pattern with five ribs wider at one end alternating with ribs wider at the opposite. The hinge is concealed. The interior is gilded and has hooks for elastic holders, one of which remains.
