About this object

The upper part of the bowl is plain gilt decorated with one small medallion engraved with the instruments of the passion. The lower part is elaborately decorated in low relief on a stippled ground with rinceau, leaves and other motifs. The single knop is also engraved with floral motifs. The foot is like a flattened bell and has engraved decoration on three different bands of leaves, scrolls, etc.
