About this object

The ashtray is a flat top standing on four legs. The round bowl of the ashtray is deeply recessed and indented on four sides to hold cigars. The bottom is a circular piece of nephrite. The four corners of the square are jade mounted in silver and resting on open triangular legs ending in square and pad feet. At the juncture with the top, each leg merges into an open cube with four squares in relief.
