About this object

The background of the rectangular menu holder is engraved with engine turned waves and then enameled in translucent red. Against the enamel are four pedestal type incense burners and between each two a wreath and a swag, all carved in silver and gilded. On the border is a repeated acanthus motif engraved. The two feet are gadrooned. At the back is a brace.
