About this object

In the bottom of the kovsh's bowl is set a silver coin of Elizabeth I (1747). There is a beaded band below the rim and on the prow are the engraved dates 1885 9/I 1900 commemorating a fifteenth anniversary or birthday: January 9, 1885-1900. On the handle is an openwork design of leaves set with a small emerald and cabochon ruby.
