About this object

Tiny gold frame is enameled in pink over an engraved ground with a circlet of tiny diamonds on inside and above a red gold bowknot. Frame rests on a bowknot and leaves carved in red and green gold. All this rests on a white agate pedestal with three ball feet in gold. About the pedestal, are swags of drapery and flowers carved in red, green, white gold, and suspended from three tiny cabochon rubies. The frame is set with a miniature of Prince Nikolai Yusupov (Iusupov). Miniature is not original to frame and was added after 1969 (see acc. no. 53.49).
