About this object

The frame holds a pair of unsigned oval miniatures of Peter, Duke of Oldenbourg in regimental uniform and Grand Duchess Olga, probably executed at the time of their marriage held on August 9, 1901. These are mounted in gold, bordered with rose cut diamonds. Above, linking the two miniatures is a lover's knot set with rose cut diamonds, and below this one cabochon ruby. At bottom another cabochon ruby, with four small diamonds set below it, links the two miniatures.
