About this object

The main part of the square box is from a single piece of bombe nephrite. The detachable cover is in gold, its rim carved with a classical molding. The rest of the cover is a sunburst effect in gold openwork with the central medallion set with a blue stone surrounded by trefoils in tiny diamonds.
