About this object

The oval box consists of two flat pieces of bloodstone mounted in a gold frame that serves as the sides. The bloodstone pieces have beveled edges, are straight at the back, curved at the sides and pointed in the front. The gold mounting, seen mostly from the sides is plain on the lower part and ribbed on the upper.
