About this object

A rectangular gold box with an oval medallion in the center of the cover. In the medallion are the interlaced initials FR VII surmounted by the royal crown made in silver set with diamonds. The background is in matte gold with a narrow border of blue enamel. The rest of the cover has repousse work in strap designs and leaves on a yellow gold ground. The edge is in green gold. On the corners of the sides are repousse leaf motifs on matte gold and in the center of each side is an engraved leaf motif in yellow gold. The rest of the sides are made in red gold with an engraved zig-zag motif. The edges have a green gold ribbon on a matte yellow gold. The bottom has a similar red gold irregular center with a zig-zag motif. The rest has repousse and engraved motifs in green, red and yellow gold.
