Volunteer Opportunities

Become part of our fabulous team! Hillwood is recruiting Visitor Services volunteers (VSV), Membership Services volunteers (MSV), and Garden volunteers for weekdays and weekends.

  • Garden Docents lead tours of Hillwood’s magnificent grounds. Training will begin in the fall.
  • VSVs provide orientations in the Visitor Center and assist guests in the Mansion.
  • MSVs assist Hillwood members and promote membership to visitors.
  • Garden volunteers assist horticulture staff in the gardens.

Volunteers serve on a regular schedule, honor an annual service commitment, and participate in training and education programs. They also take part in volunteer-only events and receive discounts at the Museum Shop and to public programs. Those interested in becoming a Visitor Services or Membership Services volunteer should contact Lisa Dinello, interpretation volunteer coordinator, at 202.243.3938 or ldinello@HillwoodMuseum.org. Garden Volunteers should contact Bill Johnson, horticulturist volunteer coordinator, at 202.243.3927 or bjohnson@HillwoodMuseum.org.
