About this object

Two piece tailor-made suit in tan wool with a woven blue pinstripe highlighted by a hairline cream thread. The slightly double breasted jacket is trimmed at cuffs and lapels with bands of solid wool and blue line stitched embroidery. Cut-out trianglar shaped details piped in blue wool felt with decorative pearl buttons are applied on sleeves and back. The skirt is fitted at waist with a self-contained waistband. The same banding and triangular cutouts with pearl buttons decorate the skirt. These details are of couture quality; likewise, all interior seems are bound and hand sewn. The skirt is protected at the hemline by an inner lining of heavy wool that could be easily removed and replaced when worn.
