About this object
Statue in stone depicting "Amour au Chevreau" or Eros, the God of Love. Eros is standing with the right arm raised above his head and the forearm resting on his head as he reached for an arrow from the quiver on his back. His other arm is curled around a kid. He is standing in the contraposto pose, with the left leg flexed. His wings are folded behind him, and to his right is his shield which shows a figure of Roman. This statue is said to be from the Chateau vaux le Penil belonging to the Princess Faucigny Lucinge.
